Drawing Houses

Had a good time at the sketch group this morning. Dan showed up at Couch park and we drew for a bit before walking around a bit, finally we decided to draw some the nearby Victorian era houses. I am still trying to get used to drawing while standing up, or walking. Next time I think I will bring along my little camping chair to sit on. Really enjoyed the quick house sketches, and think I will do more of them.

Next week I am thinking of meeting down at the waterfront, there are all sorts of things to draw there; bridges, people, rivers, skyline, and Saturday market. I'm also in the process of planning a trip to the zoo courtesy of the Art Institute. I will let you know as those plans progress.

GET BACK TO SKETCHING!

If it is raining tomorrow the group will be meeting at the Old Pharmacy Cafe on 21st and Glisan. If the weather is nice and sunny then it is Couch park on 18th and Glisan. 11:00am.

Below are some Nutella repackages I did a couple of days ago. I don't usually do such a cartoony style, but it was fun. My sister called me up and told me her class at college was doing a marketing campaign for Nutella where they needed to market it more for children. I was told they wanted a squirrel, and the turn around time was one day. For payment, I am to receive a few bottles of Nutella in the mail. I have officially hit the big time!

almost done!

Hi guys, just wanted to check in and see how things were going. I'm about 3 weeks away from being done with the bitch of a schedule I have had since christmas. A total of 65 paintings needed to be completed between Jan. 6th and April 17th. I have about 16 more to go and it's going pretty well. I must say I haven't had this kind of a work crunch since I was in school (about 5 years ago). It's been tough to say the least.

I've uploaded a few of the images here. Four are from a children's book called "the library ghost" and the other is a novel cover. Both of these jobs are for Penguin Putnam. They have been interesting and I'm changing up my technique some. I've never relied on line before, so I thought I'd give that a go on these projects.

Hope you are all doing well.and really hope I can join you on some of the sketch trips this term!
